Cesar Trasobares, Guest Curator
This exhibition was organized
by Trasobares, Art in Public Places staff and regional coordinators in South
Florida as a traveling showcase of models, drawings, photographs and other
documents by artists about their public art projects and commissions. The
extensive essay
described the emergence and history of the program and was intended to inform
general audiences about the cultural initiative.

In later years, through a
second exhibition at the prestigious
Milano Triennale in 1988, the program became a model for other %-for-art initatives
in the US and served as a showcase
for artists' interventions in the development of contemporary cities and
urban spaces.
